The study aimed to determine the degree of practice of the heads of academic departments at Al-Aqsa University to manage excellence and determine the level of performance of faculty members and to examine whether there was a relationship between them, To achieve this, the descriptive approach was used by analyzing the information obtained from the study tools for managing excellence and performance , Where the distribution of the study community of all members of the faculty of 221 members, and the study reached several results, the most important that the degree of practice of excellence management is moderate and equal 3.32, as well as the degree of functional performance was moderate, reaching 3.28 , The study also showed that there are no statistically significant differences due to the majority of the study variables except in the field of human development for the type of academic section in favor of the scientific departments and the field of empowerment for gender in favor of males , It was also found that there is a strong and positive correlation between the degree of practice of the heads of the academic departments at Al-Aqsa University to manage excellence in all fields and the level of improvement in the performance of the faculty members.
