This study discusses the role of social media in promoting the value of "culture" among youth according to the epistemological heritage of the theory of value determinism for Abdulrahman Azzi.
The study aimed to identify the effect of social media on the knowledge and behavior of youth and to identify attitudes towards social media and their ability to form a cultural awareness. The study is a descriptive exploratory which use survey method and questionnaire tool. The main question is what are the attitudes of youth and their ability to shape their cultural awareness?
The results of the study confirmed the increase social communication increased the youth awareness about local and international policies, as the study confirmed that social media provided the satisfaction of cognitive, social and entertainment to youth. Social media also worked to expand the scope of thinking and flexibility, increase understanding of others, respect their beliefs and enhance their ability to coexist peacefully with them, Most of the sample of the study confirmed that they had convictions and opinions on certain issues and changed after exposure to social media.
From the above, we can say that social media have the most impact on the cultural value, and contributed to the promotion of the value of culture among youth and thus ratified the imperative theory of the mass communication.
