TRENDS OF ACADEMIC ELITES REGARDING THE TREATMENT OF IRAQI SATELLITE CHANNELS OF TERRORISM

The aim of the research is to find out the strength of the credibility of the Iraqi satellite channels in diagnosing and uncovering terrorism topics and presenting them to the Iraqi society and to know the most effective Iraqi satellite channels in the academic elites and changing their attitudes on the topics of terrorism. A sample of 150 researchers from three academic universities (Baghdad University, Mustansiriya University and Iraqi University) was selected in Baghdad governorate.

The study comes up with the conclusion that the credibility of the Iraqi channels in dealing with the subject of terrorism is of doubtful nature due to the poor financial and technical capabilities of the channels. The assessment of the teachers was also of varying degree as the coverage was not up to the standard required especially under the current circumstances in Iraq and, as a result, the Iraqi channels have failed in playing their  proper role in covering, influencing and putting an end to the phenomenon.
