The study focused on the extent to which the Iraqi family used the social networking sites and the knowledge of the behavior of the individual towards his family and the implications of the use of sites on the life of the Iraqi family. To achieve this, the descriptive approach was adopted by surveying the Baghdad public through the questionnaire. Studies that focus on social media sites and new media are still growing as a result of the acceleration of technologies. Each time a new invention is introduced that makes families defensive and fearful of children.
The study found important results, including: that cognitive needs are the main motivation for the use of social networking sites, and the reason for use is isolation, and that personal conversation through Messenger is one of the most important things that the study sample and the excessive use of these sites caused many family problems Users.
