THE EFFECTIVENESS OF YARMOUK UNIVERSITY FACULTY MEMBERS' USE OF DIGITAL MEDIA PLATFORMS IN THE EDUCATIONAL PROCESS

Abstract The study aimed to identify the effectiveness of using digital media platforms by faculty members' at Yarmouk University the educational process. It also addressed the necessity for educational stakeholders to prioritize educational processes, keep up with technological advancements, and facilitate cultural communication and knowledge exchange. Additionally, it highlighted the significance of making educational content accessible to a larger number of students, along with the importance of having an archive that students can refer to at any time. All of these benefits are provided by digital media as technological means. Digital media exhibit flexibility in usage and harmonize with educational content and teaching strategies, ultimately enhancing educational outcomes. The study emphasized the vital role of university professors in using digital media in the educational process, recognizing them as crucial academic references relied upon by students in accomplishing various academic tasks. Furthermore, the study contributed to identifying the reality of university professors in the digital education process, as well as the challenges they face. It also examined the status of digital media and their role in facilitating the educational process and assessing the level of benefit derived from them. This study serves as a valuable addition to the academic library and a reference for researchers in the fields of media and education. The study employed a descriptive survey methodology on a random sample of 218 study participants. Through the use of a questionnaire, the study collected and analyzed responses from the sample. The study utilized the five-point Likert scale to validate the study's tools, assigning one of the five degrees to each paragraph. The study concluded that the majority of faculty members prefer using digital media as an educational tool. It further clarified that most faculty members use digital media in teaching the majority of educational materials. The findings revealed that faculty members demonstrate effective interaction with digital media during the educational process. It also demonstrated the existence of a correlation between the effectiveness of faculty members' use of digital media and some demographic variables of the study. The study highlighted that some faculty members do not use digital media because some students do not handle it well. The study expressed that the level of interaction of faculty members with digital media was high. The study's results concluded that the habitual motivations for faculty members to use digital media were high. The study's results reported that the utilitarian motivations for faculty members to use digital media were high. The study's results indicated that the density of faculty members' use of digital media in the educational process was high.
